La Catrina was created around 1910 by José Guadalupe Posada as a skeleton lady wearing a fancy hat to mock the wealthy. She became well-known in 1947 when Diego Rivera painted her in his mural, turning her into a symbol of Mexican culture.
Today, La Catrina is famous as the face of Día de Muertos, representing the acceptance of death and remembering loved ones who have passed.

"Blending both West African and American brands of funk with bluesy grit and psychedelic ambience, along with a chin-out attitude." - Billboard. This Afropsych musical chemistry comes from the bond forged by frontman Kalu James, who emigrated from NIgeria at age 18, and guitarist Jonathan "JT" Holt, who adds a touch of American soul to Kalu's West African heritage. Son Rompe Pera is a groundbreaking band from Naucalpan, Mexico, known for their unique fusion of punk and traditional cumbia, coined as "Cumbia Punk." Formed by the Gama brothers, they infuse the marimba, an instrument they grew up playing with their father, with raw punk energy, creating a high-octane, danceable experience. Their performances, famous for igniting marimba mosh pits, have taken them to prestigious stages worldwide, earning them critical acclaim. With two albums, including the 2023 release Chimborazo, they continue to push the boundaries of tradition and innovation in music.
Born & raised in the deep outskirts of Mexico City, the Gama brothers are keeping alive the legacy of marimba music running through their family with their latest project, Son Rompe Pera. While firmly rooted in the tradition of this historic instrument, their fresh take on this folk icon challenges its limits as never before, moving it into the garage/punk world of urban misfits.

Polaris is one of the many facets Pablo Cantú has shown in his career. After establishing himself with Reyno as a producer and artist, the multi-instrumentalist spent nearly two years recording and composing with artists like Adán Jodorowsky, Jay de la Cueva, and Emmanuel Horvilleur, among others. Inspired by these collaborations, he shaped a series of experiments that explore everything from psychedelic rock and grunge to what he defines as progressive pop.
Trance is the first glimpse of the freedom, spontaneity, and adventure that will characterize this new project.
Free concert. 21+ after 9pm

Founded in 2011, The Suffers built a devoted local following before breaking out internationally in 2015 on the strength of their extraordinary debut EP, Make Some Room, which helped land them performances everywhere from Letterman to NPR’s Tiny Desk. The band followed it up in 2016 with a self-titled full-length that yielded similarly widespread acclaim along with star-making performances at Newport Folk and on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah”. By the time the group released their 2018 sophomore effort, Everything Here, their arrival as critical and festival favorites was undeniable: NPR praised the “multidimensional, multicultural possibilities of their take on soul,” while The Guardian called the album an “adventurous” collection that “blends 70s R&B, disco, jazz, and contemporary gospel,” and Rolling Stone proclaimed it “an inspired vision of roots music."
