WHAT IS THE COST OF MAKING A RESERVATION? IS THERE A MINIMUM? WHAT IS THE LATEST HOUR THAT I CAN BOOK A RESERVATION?
Our reservation process is super simple – no minimum expenditure and no charge per person. There is a one-time fee to reserve the space. You may make a reservation as late as 8 pm. Unfortunately, due to volume, we will not be able to accommodate reservations after 8pm unless the reservation is for the upstairs balcony on weekdays.
• Mondays – Thursdays: $25 per table
• Fridays to Sundays: $50 per table
• Upstairs balcony - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: $150. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: $300.
• Side wing of beer garden (for large parties): subject to change seasonally – please inquire via email or give us a call.
• All table reservations must be purchased prior to your event at the bar or via contract. We accept cash and credit card payments.
• Cancellation policy: full refund if cancellation is made at least two days prior to reservation.
DO YOU WAIVE TABLE FEES FOR NON-PROFIT EVENTS?
We do. Please reach out to us; helping others is a very high priority and we would love to assist you to help you make the most money for your cause by not charging a fee for your event.
IF I LEAVE WITHOUT CLOSING OUT, DO YOU AUTOMATICALLY ADD A 20%TIP TO MY BILL?
We created our system so that you give us your card when you first buy a drink and then we give it back to you right away. If you decide to not close out, or the line is long and you just want to bounce, you are welcome to, and we just add a 20% gratuity automatically.
DO YOU SERVE FOOD? CAN I BRING IN OUTSIDE FOOD?
We do not serve food ourselves, but we share a patio with Luigi’s Pizzeria. There are also food vendors that set up right inside the garden. Offering the best food in Houston is a big priority for us so we are constantly rotating in the yummiest food trucks and scheduling pop-ups often. We normally book food trucks two weeks in advance and try to keep our website and Facebook updated with their schedule. Our food trucks or Luigi’s can also cater events.
You may bring in any outside food that you like. If you have questions about what is scheduled for a particular day, check out our Facebook page, our website, or send us a message via social media.
ARE YOU DOG FRIENDLY?
YES!!!! We have dog bowls and dog treats just for them. Please only bring pets that are spayed or neutered and well-behaved.
Always keep dogs on a leash and clean up after them.
CAN I BRING MY KIDS TOO?
Of course, bring the kiddos! We do switch to 21+ after 9 pm Sunday through Thursday and after 8 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. You and your family are more than welcome to hang out at Luigi’s patio after we switch to 21+!
As we hope you are aware, Axelrad is first and foremost a bar, and we ask that the presence of your kids does not impact other customer’s experience. Please make sure they behave in an appropriate manner (no throwing rocks, no horseplay, running or swinging upside down in hammocks), and also please keep them within ten feet of yourself. Being able to bring kids is a privilege, please help us make sure that we can continue to offer this to all families.
WHAT IS THE PARKING SITUATION?
We have a lot catty corner from our front door, a gravel lot in the back behind Luigi’s and abundant street parking. We also offer a 5% discount if you Uber, taxi, bike, walk, bus, metro rail, etc. If you do drive, please be sure to hide all valuables that you leave in your car, or better yet, bring them with you.
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN SIT AT EACH TABLE?
Our rectangular beer garden tables can seat 8-10 people comfortably.
CAN WE DECORATE THE TABLES?
Sure! All that we ask is that decorations are cleaned up before you leave and that there are no glitter, confetti, piñatas, etc, or anything else that can be a hassle to clean up. Seriously, no confetti!
DO YOU HAVE A PLACE TO STORE CAKES OR CATERING?
We have very limited space in our walk-in but we can help with smaller items. Just let us know what your needs are so we can ensure that we are able to make accommodations.
CAN WE HIRE A CATERING COMPANY?
Of course! Let us know what your plans are so that we can set up a table to place food, plates, etc on.
IF I WANT TO PAY FOR ALL OF MY FRIENDS’ DRINKS, HOW DO I GO ABOUT DOING THAT?
You are welcome to bring wristbands for your guests and we will be happy to instruct staff accordingly.
I WANT TO PAY FOR A ROUND OR TWO FOR ALL OF MY GUESTS, DO YOU HAVE A SYSTEM FOR THAT?
Of course, we recommend using tickets (which we supply), you determine the tickets’ worth and decide how many you want to give to each guest. All tickets can be redeemed with your server or at the bar and will be put on the tab you set up. You only pay for actual drinks purchased.
I HATE MATH AND WANT TO ENSURE THAT THE STAFF IS TAKEN CARE OF, CAN YOU ADD GRATUITY FOR ME?
Yes, you tell us what percentage that you want to tip and we’ll press a button on the computer and voila!
IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
We pride ourselves in being super casual – come as you are. As long as you’re fully clothed and have shoes on, we’re good to go!
DO YOU HAVE OTHER DRINKS BESIDES BEER?
We have a full bar! Our wine selection is beautiful, and we have specialty cocktails and rotating seasonal drinks. There’s also tons of ciders!
DO YOU HAVE ANY NONALCOHOLIC DRINKS?
Yes! We offer sodas, juices, Saint Arnold Rootbeer, as well as artisan sodas, Topo Chico, great mocktails, NA beers, seltzers and Kombucha!
DO YOU HAVE A HAPPY HOUR OR ANY OTHER DRINK SPECIALS?
We always have a $3 beer all day, every day. We have happy hour from 12pm-7pm Monday through Friday which includes $3 Mimosas, and $4 Wells, $5 small Frozens and house wines!
